Day 1

Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

Transfer from Moshi to Londorossi Gate (2,100m) on the western slope. Begin trek through pristine and less-traveled rainforest. Lush vegetation with hanging mosses, giant tree ferns, and diverse birdlife. Listen for colobus monkeys and tropical birds. Gradual ascent on well-maintained trail through dense canopy. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,750m) for lunch. Dinner at 6:30pm.

Day 2

Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira Camp 1

Exit rainforest into heath and moorland. Stunning views of Kibo and Shira Plateau. Giant lobelias and groundsels line the trail. The landscape opens up dramatically. Arrive at Shira Camp 1 (3,500m) for lunch. Afternoon acclimatization walk. Dinner at 6:30pm.

Day 3

Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2

Easy walk across Shira Plateau - one of the highest plateaus in the world at 3,900m. Panoramic views in all directions. Flat terrain allows for good acclimatization. Arrive at Shira Camp 2 (3,900m) for lunch. Afternoon acclimatization hike. Dinner at 6:30pm.

Day 4

Shira Camp 2 to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

Climb high, sleep low. Trek to Lava Tower (4,630m) for incredible views. Descend to Barranco Camp. Critical for acclimatization. The trail traverses alpine desert with dramatic rock formations. Lunch at Lava Tower then steep descent to camp. Dinner at 6:30pm.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Barranco Wall scramble - exciting hands-on climbing. Easier than it looks. Stunning views from the top. Continue to Karanga Camp (3,995m). Early dinner at 5:30pm.

Day 6

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Short steep climb to Barafu Camp (4,640m). Rest and prepare for summit. Early dinner at 5pm. Sleep by 7pm. Wake at 11:30pm for summit attempt. Begin climbing at midnight. Steep zigzag ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Watch sunrise at the top of Africa. Quick descent to Mweka Camp. Celebration lunch.
